Getting patient samples safely from their source to the laboratory SpeciSafe Packs Provide a Safe, Convenient and Economical Sample Packaging Solution SpeciSafe is a unique packaging concept that makes patient sample packaging much less of a chore. SpeciSafe replaces the secondary packaging and combines the absorbent material and rigid container within a single piece. You then only need to add a padded envelope or bag as your outer packaging, saving you time and money. What’s more, wherever possible due to the size of the primary container, the SpeciSafe mailing pack is designed to be postable at the standard letter rate, minimising postage costs. Ultra Absorbent Lining Eliminates Leakage The unique feature of SpeciSafe packaging products is an internally bonded super absorbent lining which soaks up any leakage in seconds. The material is so absorbent that 1m 2  can soak up as much as 20 litres of liquid. Once the lining has absorbed its maximum amount of liquid, it becomes a watertight barrier and effectively seals the SpeciSafe pack preventing any leakage from the secondary container. The lining is bonded to a rigid container moulded in a range of designs to fit perfectly around commonly used 95 kPa sample vessels. They include packs for single or up to ten sample containers covering the commonly used Urine, Blood, and Swab vessels, amongst others. TARGET Canine Ovulation Test Kit TARGET Canine Ovulation Test Kit

Canine Ovulation Test applicable to - Dog Sample: Serum or Plasma TARGET Canine Ovulation Test is a rapid semi-quantitative ELISA test on a membrane for the visual estimation of the Progesterone level in plasma or serum of the bitch. Its main use is to determine and monitor the period of ovulation to predict the correct time to mate. Canine Progesterone Ovulation is triggered by Luteinising Hormone (LH) which peaks two days before ovulation. Progesterone levels then begin to rise at the same time as the LH surge. After ovulation the ovocytes take 2-3 days to ripen making the most fertile period 5-6 days after the initial rise in Progesterone. Thus measuring Progesterone is the most accurate method of determining the correct time to mate. Sample Preparation A centrifuge is essential to prepare the sample from whole blood. Samples must not contain red cells or any significant amount of haemolysis (red colour) or lipaemia (white colour/fat). It is recommended that the bitch is not fed for at least 8 hours before bleeding to avoid these problems. Only clear Serum or Plasma must be used - do not use lipaemic or haemolysed samples .

Haemacytometer Set Haemacytometer Set

Improved Neubauer The Counting Chamber The cell counting chamber is moulded from a single piece of thermal and shock-resistant glass. Description An H-shaped moat forms either one or two counting areas, or plateaus. Each plateau features an etched grid or ruling. The ruled surface is either 0.1mm or 0.2mm below the cover glass, limiting the Volume of 1 Square mm of blood or fluid over a square mm at 0.1cu.mm or 0.2cu.mm respectively. Contact of the flat, polished cover glass surfaces with the cover glass supports produces an exact volume of fluid over the counting area. The difference in surface tension characteristics between the metallic surface on the chamber and the polished cover glass assures smooth capillarity for precise loading and more even cell distribution. Spare counting chambers and coverslips are available separately.

McMaster Counting Slides - McMaster Worm Egg Counting Slides McMaster Counting Slides - McMaster Worm Egg Counting Slides

Faecal Worm Egg Counts McMaster worm egg counting slides are widely used for performing faecal worm egg counts (F.E.C’s). Faecal worm egg counts are performed on faeces samples mainly from large animals such as horses, sheep and cattle which normally harbour low levels of worms in their guts. Benefits of Faecal Worm Egg Counts To provide an estimate of the adult worm burden in an individual or small group of animals. To detect animals shedding relatively large numbers of worm eggs in their faeces and thereby posing a threat to other animals grazing the same pasture. When performed as part of a Faecal Egg Reduction Test (F.E.C.R.T) to detect the efficacy of, or resistance to, the anthelmintic in use. In general, faecal worm egg counts help vets and owners maintain their livestock in good health, provide financial benefits by avoiding unnecessary worming treatments and delay/avoid the development of anthelmintic resistance.   Vetlab McMaster 2 Cell Counting Slide The Vetlab McMaster worm egg counting slide is made entirely of acrylic and consists of a base slide upon which a smaller slide is fixed on top of three supports thereby forming two chambers. On the underneath of the top slide over each chamber, a grid is printed in blue ink measuring exactly 10mm x 10mm divided by 5 vertical lines (forming 6 columns). The top slide is positioned exactly 1.5mm above the base slide so the counting area of each chamber holds 0.15 ml. in volume. The Vetlab McMaster counting slides has some significant advantages compared to the conventional glass type. Made from the strongest optical acrylic available — which is more robust than glass. The upper section is fused to the lower section by sonic welding rather than glue. This makes the slide more durable and avoids faecal residue being trapped between the pieces. The 6 grid columns making counting faster as their width exactly match the width of field of view of...
