Are you proud of your work and the difference you make? We are a growing, single site, well equipped, independent practice with a friendly environment that makes clients feel welcome and valued, and enables our passionate team to excel. We’re looking for a cheerful vet with a proactive progressive approach to join our supportive team.
You would be part of a great team of 4-5 FTE dedicated vets, and 5 experienced RVNs.
We also have visiting Veterinary consultants including a Cardiologist, an Orthopaedic surgeon, a European Soft Tissue Specialist, Diagnostic Imaging Specialists, and we use the services of an Oncologist so that we can offer a full range of services in-house wherever possible. You would be able to follow cases through and provide continuity, whilst receiving support along the way, and giving support to those around you. We run 15 minute consultations (or half an hour if needed) and everyone shares a rota for consultations and theatre.
We are committed to maintaining high standards of veterinary care through constantly learning, by improving our skills and the services we offer, and by investing in new technology. CPD is actively encouraged both in house and externally. We have regular clinical meetings; discuss cases and work together to resolve the difficult ones. The practice has an extensive library, and each vet has a desk. CPD for Cert AVP would be supported. Many professional subscriptions are covered including VIN, BSAVA, ISFM, RAW and others.
The team is supported with lots of equipment, including digital radiography, digital dental radiography, high spec US and Echo, video endoscopy, complete Idexx bench including UA, in house microscopy, electrocautery, Slit lamp, Tonovet, specialised rabbit dental equipment and much more. We have also recently achieved our Silver Status Cat Friendly Practice award from the ISFM, and the Silver Status Rabbit Friendly Practice award from the Rabbit Welfare Association.
The practice is near the beautiful Pennine moors, valleys of West Yorkshire and close to Manchester and Leeds, with excellent transport links via the M62/M60. We dont work Sundays or BH, and there is no OOH commitment as we contract out to a local A&E service. Full time vets work a 4 day week, and 1:3 Saturdays til 3pm. Holidays: 5 weeks plus BH, competitive salary, RCVS fees paid, pension.
