Emergency and Critical Care

T obias Grave  leads the daytime Emergency and Critical Care Referral Service, and will see any pet emergency immediately if referred by your vet.

Upon arriving at Vets Now Referrals the emergency patient will immediately be assessed by our Specialist  Tobias Grave . The immediate priority will be to stabilise the patient and this might happen prior to a detailed consultation with you.

Following the consultation, a diagnosis and treatment plan will be discussed, together with potential costs for the tests, treatment and hospitalisation. Hospitalised patients receive round-the-clock care by dedicated, experienced emergency vets and nursing staff.

The Emergency and Critical Care Referral Service works closely with colleagues in  internal medicine , surgery ( orthopaedics  and  soft tissue ) and oncology  to provide the best possible service and care for you and your pet.

Typical cases referred to the Emergency and Critical Care Referral Service include:

  1. Road Traffic Accidents/cat or dog knocked down by a car
  2. Excessive bleeding
  3. Diarrhoea and vomiting cats and dogs
  4. Choking pets/breathing problems
  5. Collapsed pets
  6. Seizures
  7. Suspected poisonings
