Our combined approach to client care allows us to draw on expertise within the team and throughout Vets Now Referrals giving the best care available within our centre.

Our Animal Behaviourist is  Pippa Hutchison.

Total health care involves both an animal’s physical and mental well being.  Often owners are not aware that anything can be done to help a behaviour problem and therefore do not seek help. This means that the responsibility lies with the veterinary practice to ask questions about an animal’s behaviour during routine consultations, rather than expecting clients to raise the subject themselves.

The Behaviour Clinic at Vets Now Referrals will generally be on a Wednesday, or other days subject to availability.

Problems covered include:

Dogs: Aggression towards people and/or other dogs; Anxiety including separation problems, sound sensitivities, generalised anxieties, poor socialisation; New owners.

Cats: Inappropriate toileting; Indoor spraying; Aggression towards people and/or other cats; General anxiety; New owners.

The consultation fee includes:

  • 2 hour behaviour consultation with the client and pet. This includes taking a full history and practical handling sessions where necessary
  • A full written report to the client detailing the behaviour modification programme agreed
  • A copy of the report and summary letter sent to you, the referring veterinary surgeon
  • Follow up support as required

For current consultation fees please contact our reception. Please note: home visits incur a travel charge.

Some pet insurance policies do cover behaviour fees, but clients should check their own policy.
